Approximately
80 of the "brightest and best" law students from at least
10 law schools from Texas and Louisiana were represented in the competition.
Gerald R. Powell, the Professor of Evidence at Baylor coordinated
the competition.
"This
is the most prestigious of the big mock trial competitions,"
Powell said. "It is sponsored by the American College of Trial
Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association and attracts some
of the brightest and best law students. We are excited about hosting
the regional tournament, and the opportunity to showcase our magnificent
facilities."
The
law students' performances were judged by accomplished practicing
trial lawyers or sitting judges from around Texas selected and invited
by Baylor.
Adams
(an August 1975 honors graduate of Baylor) is Board Certified in Civil
Trial Law and practices in Dallas. Steinke (a November 1975 graduate
